The Whiteside County Highway Department just received word from the Union Pacific Railroad that
the scheduled closure of Lyndon Road (south of Route 30) which was scheduled to begin on
Monday, June 21, 2010 has been postponed for approximately 2 weeks (the date is unspecified
at this time). Please watch for future announcements concerning the upcoming closure.
The Union Pacific Railroad would like to thank the traveling public for their understanding
concerning the change in plans.

Lyndon Road (South) to be Closed PDF Print E-mail

The Whiteside County Highway Department is announcing the closure of Lyndon Road (south of
Route 30) to all thru traffic beginning Monday, June 21, 2010 through Friday, June 25, 2010
(weather permitting) to allow the Union Pacific Railroad to make repairs to their at-grade crossing
just east of Morrison. The area is located approximately 1½ miles east of the City of Morrison and
¼ mile south of Route 30.
The Union Pacific (UP) Railroad will perform the work with their forces and signing will help to
inform traffic until work on the crossing is completed. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel
plans where possible to avoid the construction area.

US Route 30 Reconstruction Announced PDF Print E-mail

US ROUTE 30  - RECONSTRUCTION

The Whiteside County Highway Department has been notified that reconstruction of approximately 3 miles of US Route 30,  between Emerson Road and Galt Road, will begin on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 and will continue until approximately September 1st, 2010.  The construction area is located approximately 7 miles east of the City of Morrison and  3 miles west of the City of Sterling.   US Route. 30 will remain open to traffic during the reconstruction with flaggers present to direct traffic through the work area.  

Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans when possible.  Travel  delays may be expected and motorists are advised to use extreme caution when traveling through the construction area.
